Over the past year and a half, the Lord has given me a specific method to follow concerning the ministry of Healing Evangelism. I know...many people get alarmed when they hear the terminolgy, "specific method" when we are dealing with a move of the Holy Spirit, but is not the Holy Spirit a prominent of orderliness?
This is what I have seen work every time!
1. Call to covenant: Submission and obedience to the Word. First, people must realize that the Word of God is sovereign and God is not one that plays kindly with disobedience. Adherence to the Word results in blessing from above, and good health is a direct result of God's blessings.
2. Call to repentance: Uncovering inequities and asking forgiveness. On many of occasions, Jesus referenced the forgiveness of sins with the act of divine healing. James chapter 5 is very clear in verse 16, when he says, "Confess your sins one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed...", that the confession of sin is an integril ingredient for diving healing to occur.
3. Call to action: Becoming accountable and responsible for personal wellness. Finally, we need to be a good steward of the body that the Lord has given us. It is time to stop making excuses and do what needs to get done, regardless if we like to do it or not!
This works all the time...but sometimes Gods people don't work! We realize we need to be obedient, we realize we need to repent of harbored inequities, but the excuses, borne out of the desires of the flesh just seem to be too much. What it comes down to is a trust issue. Jesus says, "His burden is light". It is time we trust Him that He can sustain us through the pains of dieting, exercising and other, somewhat "unpleasant" but positive lifestyle changes.
